Homefinder - An Alameda and Contra Costa counties-based site that has a real estate news section in addition to its searchable listings.

Homescout - This international listing site features over 450,000 properties collected from more than 200 Web sites.

Professional Organizations

California Association of Realtors - This multiple award-winning site is an excellent resource for real estate agents in California or any state.

The CCIM Commercial Real Estate Network - Among the many features of this service is an interactive forum, a Webzine and current market trend information.

Contra Costa Association of Realtors - Visitors who are looking for a particular realtor can come here to search by name. Also provides a thorough list of current real estate classes.

The Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) - The National Association of Realtor’s professional consulting affiliate can be found here. Includes article abstracts from CRE’s Real Estate Issues publication.

Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) - Find course listings, a list of products and services, and a limited online version of The Journal of Property Management at this site.

Monterey County Association of Realtors - Monterey County realtors looking for open house listings will find this site useful. Visitors will also find a calendar of events and links to member Web pages.

National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents (NAEBA) - If you are an exclusive buyer’s agent, or are thinking about it, this is the site to visit.

National Association of Realtors - The place to go to find just about anything having to do with the NAR. This site also includes links to thousands of online listings.

The Real Estate Brokerage Managers Council - Shop online for the latest real estate publications or register online to participate in a Management Network Teleconferencing discussion session at this site.

Real Estate Business Channel - Includes a member forum, a newsroom and members-only access to association resources.

Real Estate BUYER’S AGENT Council (REBAC) - This site is primarily a searchable database of buyer’s agents.

The Realtors Land Institute - This site includes a complete database of RLI Member Listings and a link to an online version of The Land Journal, a bimonthly nationwide publication “featuring display and classified advertising on rural real estate, recreational, commercial, industrial, business and investment properties.”

The Residential Sales Council - This searchable site has an exceptional amount of information for members and perspective members, including an RS Council message board, a staff directory and course purchaser information.

Society of Industrial and Office Realtors - Visitors to this site can search for commercial properties for sale or for lease, and can also link to a member forum and a current list of SIOR courses.

Women’s Council of Realtors - Members and non-members alike will find useful information here. In addition to organization information, WCR has provided a book list and a list of leadership training courses.

Government Agencies

California Department of Real Estate - Licensee records can be found online here, and visitors can also use this site to check licensee status.

California Land Title Association - Check on CLTA’s legal developments, look up information about regulations and legislations or read consumer and industry news at this site.

California Real Estate Inspection Association - The CREIA has posted its Standards of Practice here, and visitors can also use the site to search for an inspector or read association press releases.

City of San Jose Department of Housing - This site provides access to housing-related reports and legislation, news releases and information on local housing-related programs.

Alameda County - This complete county site provides information on many county government departments, a FAQ and the Board of Supervisors Minutes.

Alameda County - Bright Side of the Bay - A good place to find demographic and “quality of life” information. Also includes information on county government.

City Sites
City of Alameda - In addition to demographic and city information, the “Alameda Photo Tour” takes visitors on a virtual tour of the City of Alameda. The site includes an email link to the Community Development Department.

inBerkeley: City of Berkeley Civic Network - Another very complete site with some unique features such as an interactive police beat map, and a place where visitors can locate bills that are currently in the California Legislature.

City of Dublin - Includes a community directory as well as information on government, services, recreation etc.

Dublin Online - This site is geared primarily towards recreation, clubs and organizations and other community-oriented activities and information.

Emeryville, California - This site offers visitors a free subscription to an email news-update service for the City of Emeryville. Also includes a photo tour and links to local establishments.

City of Fremont - Developers in the City of Fremont can check application status at this site. There is also a short calendar of events and basic government information.

City of Hayward - The “Fast Start” section of this page provides a lot of good information on doing business in the City of Hayward. The site also links to government information and a calendar of local activities.

City of Livermore - This site has a few unique features such as a directory of local wineries and a community Internet directory.

City of Montclair - Includes a link to the Planning Commission and a directory of services.

Newark, California - In addition to city and government information, this site profiles local area businesses and links to a few online documents.

OaklandNet - This is a very well-designed site focusing on business, community and government with information on area athletics and lifestyles.

City of Pleasanton- Includes demographic and community profiles, city infromation and historical photographs.

City of San Leandro - This site is a complete directory of city services and departments and includes information about parks and facilities, city hall and San Leandro living.

Rivertown: The Official Website of Antioch, California - Among this site’s most unique features is a link for seniors and current reports on Bay Area traffic, a section for local weather, and a satellite map.

City of Concord - This site has extensive business-related information including facts about evelopment and building permits.

City of Lafayette - Visitors can find news on city hall at this site, as well as links to area schools and government agencies.

City of Orinda - A photo tour and an electronic version of the city newsletter highlight this site.

City of Pinole - This site is a very basic look at government, redevelopment and community in the City of Pinole.
